PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for sealing a solar cell capable of restraining light scattering of incident light when being molded into a sealing material for a solar cell so as to improve the initial wavelength conversion efficiency of a solar cell, and capable of restraining decline of the wavelength conversion effect and of yellowing of the sealing material to a minimum degree even in the case of being exposed to solar light for a long time so as to maintain a high wavelength conversion efficiency for a long time, and a solar cell sealing material.SOLUTION: A resin composition for sealing a solar cell includes (A) a fluorescent substance having a specific structure and (B) an ethylene resin.
