PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil strainer 1 capable of effectively preventing air bubbles AB in an oil O from residing on the lower surface of a filter material.SOLUTION: An oil strainer includes a case 10, in which an inflow port 11 is opened at the lower side and an outflow port 12 is opened at the upper side, and a main filter material 20 provided in such a way as to partition an inner chamber of the case 10 into a lower chamber S1 at the inflow port 11 side and an upper chamber S2 at the outflow port 12 side. The outer end of the inflow port 11 is covered with a sub-filter material 30 provided to protrude outside the inflow port 11. Thus, since air bubbles AB in the oil O are caught by the sub-filter material 30 in a process in which the oil O flows into the inflow port 11, the air bubbles are prevented from flowing into the lower chamber S1 and residing on the lower surface of the main filter material 20. The sub-filter material 30 is provided to protrude outside the inflow port 11, so that the air bubbles AB caught float by buoyancy and leave the sub-filter material 30. Thus, the retention of the air bubbles AB onto the sub-filter material 30 can also be prevented. |
