The arrangement has a height-adjustable mast climbing stage (2) with a protection device attached to a tubular signal mast (1). The mast climbing stage is guided between the signal mast and a signal sign board (12) at the signal mast. The signal mast is designed as a square pipe, and the mast climbing stage is guided by a sleeve (3) at the signal mast. A hydraulic drive with a hydraulic cylinder (4) is arranged for movement of the mast climbing stage. A piston rod (5) is guided into the hydraulic cylinder. A deflection roller (6) is arranged at an upper end of the piston rod.
