PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery excellent in cycle durability and output characteristics.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery according to the present invention includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and contains an electrolyte between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. A binder in the negative electrode contains an alginic acid, and a solvent of the electrolyte is an ionic liquid containing bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anion.
