PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilting gravity casting apparatus excellent in molten metal filling ability and capable of sufficiently preventing the occurrence of casting defects in resultant casts; and a tilting gravity casting method using the device.SOLUTION: A tilting gravity casting apparatus 1 includes a ladle 7 in a die 2, and a molten metal M is reserved in the ladle 7, and when the die 2 is tilted, the molten metal M is poured into a cavity 6 of the die 2 through a runner 5. The tilting gravity casting apparatus 1 includes a blocking member 18 for blocking the runner 5, a pressurizing pin 23 for pressurizing the molten metal M in the cavity 6, a control device for controlling the driving of the blocking member 18 and the pressurizing pin 23, and a first molten metal sensor 24 provided to the runner 5. The control device starts driving of the blocking member 18 and the pressurizing pin 23 based on a detection signal output from the first molten metal sensor 24. |
