NEGATIVE ACTIVE MATERIAL AND LITHIUM BATTERY CONTAINING THE MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material is provided to supplement the irreversible capacity loss by the expansion and contraction of a lithium battery when charging and discharging the lithium battery, and to improve the cycle lifetime property of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material (10) contains a silicon based particle (11), and a crystalline carbon-based material. The crystalline carbon-based material contains a graphite particle (12) and a carbon nanosheet (13). The average particle diameter of the silicon based particle is 1-20 microns. The graphite particle contains more than one material selected from artificial graphite and natural graphite. A lithium battery includes: a negative electrode containing the negative electrode active material; a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material, and arranged to face the negative electrode; and electrolyte arranged in between the negative and positive electrodes.
