PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily extract the order of arrangement of sign areas of a color chip without losing the design property of the color chip.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 10 searches for contour points of a measurement area of a color patch on an image, and obtains the total value of the number of contour points and contour point numbers for each proximity area in proximity to the measurement area. The image processing apparatus 10 uses a representative value calculated from the total value of the number of the contour points and the contour point numbers held in each proximity area to associate the proximity area with the order of arrangement of the sign areas of the color patch, that is, the clockwise or anti-clockwise order of arrangement revolving around the measurement area. |
