PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of determining whether a toner sensor is abnormal or a toner conveying system is abnormal.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus which comprises: a toner conveying member 232Y for supplying toner in a toner storage container to a developing chamber of a developing device; a toner sensor 143Y for detecting a toner remaining amount; and control means for controlling the toner conveying member 232Y based on the toner remaining amount to supply toner to the developing chamber. A remaining amount detection means confirmation mode for detecting abnormality of the toner sensor 143Y and a supply means confirmation mode for detecting abnormality of the toner conveying member 232Y are provided, the control means detects abnormality of the remaining amount detection means by setting to the remaining amount detection means confirmation mode when the toner consumption prediction value and the toner remaining amount detected by the toner sensor 143Y become prescribed conditions, and the control means detects abnormality of the toner conveying member 232Y by setting to a toner supply means confirmation mode when the toner consumption prediction value and the toner remaining amount become conditions different from the above. |
