PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader and a paper sheet processor capable of reading an image more accurately.SOLUTION: The image reader of one embodiment comprises: an illuminator for irradiating a paper sheet with light; a spectral member which is provided on a side facing the illuminator across the paper sheet, receives light, and divides the received light into plural beams of light; plural sensors which receives the plural beams of light divided by the spectral member and generates signals in accordance with the received light beams; addition means which adds the signals generated by the sensors; and image generation means which generates an image on the basis of the signals added by the addition means.
