The system (100) has an antenna (111) that is polarized in a polarization direction, and controlling unit for controlling polarization direction of the antenna. The antenna is connected to an emitting/receiving module (140). A calculating unit adopts to carry out inverse Fourier transform for obtaining impulse response, where the calculating unit determines the temporal positions of peak of signal. The calculating unit determines the distance from the temporal positions. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electromagnetic reflector (2) a method for measuring a distance between an antenna and an electromagnetic reflector.
