摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell which suppress a crack in an electrode, coagulation of a fibrous conductive material, a crack in a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, etc., from occurring in a manufacturing process where using the fibrous conductive material like CNT as a conductive material for supporting a catalyst.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a membrane electrode assembly for a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprises the steps of: forming a membrane electrode assembly precursor where an electrolyte precursor membrane and an electrode precursor including a fibrous conductive material supporting a catalyst, aligned substantially vertical to the electrolyte precursor membrane, are laminated with each other; forming the membrane electrode assembly where at least an electrolyte membrane and an electrode including the fibrous conductive material supporting the catalyst and an electrolyte are laminated with each other, by carrying out an alkaline hydrolysis process using an alkaline aqueous solution and an acid treatment using an acid aqueous solution to the electrolyte precursor; and drying the membrane electrode assembly. The manufacturing method of the membrane electrode assembly for the solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell includes at least one of the steps of: compressing the membrane electrode assembly precursor in the lamination direction, and compressing the membrane electrode assembly in the lamination direction, after the step forming the membrane electrode assembly precursor and before the drying step.
