Embodiments of the claimed subject matter provide a method and apparatus coordinating downlink multipoint transmissions. One embodiment of the method includes transmitting, from a first base station, first information indicating a first constraint on a starting position for downlink data transmission by the first base station or one or more second base stations. This embodiment of the method also includes transmitting, from the first base station, second information that includes a bit. A combination of the bit and the first information indicates the starting position for the downlink data transmission. |
