PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high discharge capacity for various electrolytes, and to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including that electrode.SOLUTION: In the electrode 20 for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the electrode active material is SiO(0≤x<2) coated with a d-block element in the fourth period on a periodic table. An nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 1 including the electrode 20 is also provided. Preferably, the d-block element is at least one kind selected from a group consisting of Ni, Zn and Cu. |
