PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine allowing a user to easily set a position on processing cloth to be sewn.SOLUTION: A receiver can detect an ultrasonic wave transmitted from an ultrasonic wave pen. The receiver can be attached to any position. When fixed points F, G and H whose positions are preliminary stored are sequentially specified by the ultrasonic wave pen, two receivers attached to coordinates B and C detect the ultrasonic wave transmitted from the ultrasonic wave pen. Based on transmission timing of the ultrasonic wave from each of the fixed points F, G and H and the reception timing at the two receivers, a sewing machine specifies the coordinates B and C of the two receivers. When a user then specifies a position on the processing cloth to be sewn by the ultrasonic wave pen, the sewing machine specifies the specified coordinates on the basis of the transmission timing, detection timing of the ultrasonic wave and the coordinates B and C of the receivers, and performs the sewing at the specified coordinates. |
