The device has a body (1), which is arranged between an illumination device (2) and a projection area, which is formed through a shadow wall (6). The illumination device is formed for generating a light strip (12), particularly parallel light (3). An electronic sensor is arranged behind or in the front of the shadow wall for parallel detection of strip image of the body, where the strip image is generated from traversing of the illumination device. A sensor (7) is connected with a calculation unit (8) for processing of the strip image detected parallel with the traversing. An independent claim is included for a method for generating a representation of a three dimensional body.
