PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine that can properly eliminate a hyperoxic condition of a catalyst due to fuel cut in a coast stop vehicle.SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine includes: a condition detector for detecting a coast stop condition; a coast stop controller for stopping combustion of an internal combustion engine EG when a predetermined coast stop condition is met; a fuel injection unit 118 for injecting fuel; and a controller 11 for controlling the fuel injection unit so that fuel is injected immediately before the rotation of the internal combustion engine stops when the coast stop condition is met.
