METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING SQUARE SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for manufacturing a secondary battery, the method eliminating a poor weld that occurs when sealing its liquid intake port with a sealing plug after an injection of an electrolyte by preventing attachment of the electrolyte to the liquid intake port provided on a lid of the battery can in an injection process.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a square secondary battery 1, comprising: a liquid intake port 7 including a recess part 22 recessed on the surface of a battery lid 3 and an open hole 21 opened through a recessed bottom surface 23 of the recess part 22; and a sealing plug 8 being fit to the recess part 22 after an electrolyte being injected into a battery can 2 through the liquid intake port 7. The plug 8 is brought into contact with the recessed bottom surface 23 and welded to the battery lid 3 to seal the liquid intake port 7. A nozzle head 206 is mounted to the liquid intake port 7, then a head body 211 made of an elastic material is brought into contact with the surface of the recessed bottom surface 23, connected to the open hole 21 with the open hole 21 being sealed by the head body 211. Then the square secondary battery 1 is manufactured by injecting the electrolyte into the battery can 2 through the head body 211.
