PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which an aperture ratio loss can be reduced while taking countermeasures for polarized sunglasses.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display panel (liquid crystal display) includes a color filter substrate and an array substrate as a pair of substrates opposing each other. The array substrate includes a common electrode (a lower electrode) and a pixel electrode (an upper electrode). One pixel of the liquid crystal display panel includes a plurality of sub pixels, and each sub pixel includes a first region and a second region. The first region and the second region are partitioned by signal lines and scanning lines. In the liquid crystal display panel, a rubbing treatment direction (an orientation direction) is inclined at, for example, approximately 10 degrees against the Y axis direction in the clockwise direction, and the first region and the second region extend respectively in opposite directions (the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction), with respect to the rubbing treatment direction, inclined at the same angle (of, for example, approximately 5 degrees). |
