PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the iron scale dispersion action of an iron scale inhibitor containing a water-soluble polymer compound that has a carboxy group such as carboxymethyl cellulose.SOLUTION: This iron scale inhibitor is formed of an aqueous solution in which a water-soluble polymer having a carboxy group, water-soluble calcium salt and a stabilizer comprising at least one kind out of gluconic acid, gluconate, glucoheptonic acid and glucoheptonate, are dissolved. The iron scale preventing method for a steam generator includes adding the iron scale inhibitor into a water side can of the steam generator or to the water supply. |
