PURPOSE: An energy storage system and a control method thereof are provided to improve the efficiency of a system by stably supplying power to a load in case that the system goes wrong. CONSTITUTION: A power converting system transmits the power to an external system (3) and receives the power from the external system. The power converting system relays the received power to a load (4) through a first path. A bypass switch provides a second path.
