<p>PURPOSE: An equalizer matrix computation apparatus and a method thereof are provided to minimize delay time by providing an efficient Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) detection method with optimal waiting time. CONSTITUTION: A QR decomposition (QRD) unit (310) computes more than one row Q and more than one row R corresponding to a training symbol which is currently received in a MIMO system. An inverse computation unit (320) computes an inverse column R by inversing a column R which is newly obtained. The inverse computation unit computes an inverse column Q by inversing a column Q which is newly obtained. An update unit (330) updates more than one equalizer columns sequentially based on the inverse column Q and the inverse row R.
