A fuel supply system (1) has a tank (2), a boiler (5), and a fuel supply pipe from the tank to the boiler. A flow meter (4) is mounted in the pipe from the tank to the boiler. a controller (6) has a processor, a communication interface to the flow meter, and a user interface. A server (7) receives data uploads from the controller (6); manages uses accounts according to payments made and fuel usage data, and downloads commands to the controller. the controller monitors fuel usage according to the flow meter (4), uploads fuel usage data to the server (7), and controls the boiler according to server commands. There is also a fuel sensor (3)for the tank (2), and the controller of the server receive fuel level data from the tank sensor (3), and checks that fuel level drop is consistent with the fuel usage data. Also, they can generate an alert if fuel level drop exceeds a threshold rate.
