PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily installing a stand pipe in a narrow construction space without requiring a large-scale construction machine. SOLUTION: A pipe material 2 is arranged in parallel and the pipe material 2 and the pipe material 2 are connected with a connection plate 3, so as to compose a stand pipe unit 1. The stand pipe unit 1 is temporarily placed on a loading space provided on a bottom floor. A tip end of a wire 21A of a winch 21 arranged at an upper floor is connected with the connection plate 3 of a first stand pipe unit 1, and then the first stand pipe unit 1 is lifted up to a predetermined position and fixed to the building. While the wire 21A passing through the connection plate 3 of the first stand pipe unit 1, the tip end of the wire 21A is connected with a connection plate 3 of a second stand pipe unit 1 and the second stand pipe unit 1 is lifted to the bottom end of the first stand pipe unit 1. Then the pipe material 2 of the first stand pipe unit 1 and the pipe material 2 of the second stand pipe unit 1 are connected.
