Wood finishing method and device for executing the method

The finishing method involves thermomechanically compacting the wood (2) to be finished at a temperature of 90 degree Celsius to 150 degree Celsius and at a high pressing pressure of greater than or equal to 200 bar, and carrying out thermal treatment under vacuum with constant heating of the wood, during which the wood is heated above 160 degree Celsius. A lower pressing pressure is simultaneously exerted on the wood to be finished. The temperature of wood is maintained at 230 degree Celsius during the thermal treatment for a time period of 1 to 48 hours, particularly 6 to 24 hours. An independent claim is included for a device for finishing wood.
