PURPOSE: A method for tuning field distribution of a high-frequency accelerator is provided to rapidly convert frequency fluctuation derived through a transmission line theory into a moving distance of a slug tuner and improve the accuracy of field distribution tuning. CONSTITUTION: Field distribution of a multi-cell acceleration tube is measured by using a fluctuation device for field distribution measurement of a slug tuning device (S1). Frequency fluctuation required for each slug tuner is calculated (S2). A reference frequency variation is extracted after the frequency fluctuation and a field distribution measurement value are prepared (S3). A proportional constant is calculated by substituting the field distribution measurement value at the randomly selected position of the slug tuner for a predetermined equation (S4). A reference calculation equation of the tuning device is prepared (S5). The moving distance of the slug tuner is calculated by substituting residual values except for a distance value that the slug tuner moves and the moving distances of all slug tuners are calculated in the same method (S6). When the slug tuner moves up to the calculated distance (S7), the frequency fluctuation is generated to uniformly tune whole field distribution within a predetermined range.
