A side reinforcing component for a refrigerator and a method for forming the same are provided to reduce the weight of the refrigerator by reinforcing a side of the refrigerator using polyester or epoxy based material. A side reinforcing component(200) for a refrigerator comprises a cool air duct(400) formed inside a side of a refrigerator compartment to supply cool air from a freezer compartment to the refrigerator compartment. The cool air duct has a bent shape to extend to the refrigerator compartment. The cool air duct has a first end communicating with the freezer compartment and a second end communicating with doors of the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment. The side reinforcing component is installed between the cool air duct and an outer panel(131) of the side of the refrigerator to prevent the outer panel from being bent. |
