PURPOSE: Backup UPS for mobile communication relay is provided to eliminate the fault including the reduction of capacity due to continuous charge of battery. CONSTITUTION: A display part shows the residual quantity of the battery. A temperature sensing part measures the temperature of the battery. An output voltage sensing part measures the output voltage of the battery. A charging current sensing part measures the charging current supplied for charging the battery. A residual quantity data storage stores the residual quantity data about the residual quantity of the battery determined by the relation between the temperature of the battery and the charging current. A control part calculates the residual quantity of the battery corresponding to the measured value of the temperature of battery and the charging current in case the output voltage in battery charging maintains a fixed reference voltage. The calculated residual quantity of the battery is displayed on the display part.
