WORK HEAD AND TOP TAPE REMOVAL DEVICE

A work head capable of moving to an arbitrary position on a base by means of a movement device is configured so as to be provided with: a pair of rollers (156, 166) that sandwich the top tape of tape-housed components in which electronic components are housed in multiple housing indentations formed in a carrier tape and in which the top tape covers the housing indentations; and an electromagnetic motor (160) for feeding the top tape in a state sandwiched by the pair of rollers. The work head is configured so as to perform the work of removing the top tape from the tape-housed components. With the aforementioned configuration, it is possible to automatically remove the top tape from the tape-housed components by driving the electromagnetic motor. Moreover, since the work head can move by means of the movement device, it is possible to move the top tape removed from the tape-housed components to a location such as a storage container for discarding the top tape.
