PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a synchronous serial communication system and an operation method therefor, starting communication using a redundant channel when a main channel becomes abnormal, with reduced power consumption.SOLUTION: In a synchronous serial communication system, including a main channel and a redundant channel for use by switchover from the main channel on the occurrence of a failure in the main channel, each of two communication devices that establishes the redundant channel includes PLL to which a master clock is input. When the two communication devices are not used by the switchover from the main channel, power is supplied only for synchronous operation with the master clock by PLL. |
