PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wires and cables having excellent radiation resistance and water resistance applicable to the containment of a nuclear power plant, especially a boiling water nuclear power plant.SOLUTION: Outer periphery of a conductor 11 is coated with an insulator 12 composed of a plastic rubber material, and a glass layer 13 is formed on the surface of the insulator 12. The glass layer has a thickness of 0.01-2.0 μm, and consists of a glass layer produced by glass conversion of polysilazane. The glass layer is formed on the outer periphery of the insulator in single layer or multilayer. |
