PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of displaying an image allowing an operator to easily confirm an insertion path of a puncture needle.SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus in an embodiment includes an MPR image creating part, a setting part, a specifying part, a sectional image creating part, and a display control part. The MPR image creating part creates a first MPR image showing a cross section in a prescribed direction for volume data and a second MPR image showing a cross section in a direction different from the prescribed direction. The setting part is used for setting an insertion path of a puncture needle into a subject based on the first MPR image. The specifying part specifies an image region corresponding to the insertion path in the first MPR image and in the second MPR image respectively. The sectional image creating part creates a sectional image of a cross section orthogonally crossing a cross section of the first or second MPR image and along the image region in the MPR image for the first and second MPR images in which the image regions are specified respectively. The display control part switches and displays the sectional image in a display part. |
