<p>A solid scintillator (2) according to one embodiment includes a polycrystalline body of an oxide having garnet structure. The solid scintillator (2) exhibits an in-line transmittance of 10% or more at a wavelength of 680nm. The oxide constituting the solid scintillator (2) has a composition represented by, for example, the general formula (Gd1-alpha-beta-gammaTbalphaLubetaCegamma)3(Al1-xGax)aOb [wherein 0<alpha<=0.55, 0<beta<=0.55, 0.0001<=gamma<=0.1, alpha+beta+gamma<1, 0<x<1, 4.8<=a<=5.2, and 11.6<=b<=12.4].</p> |
