Provided is a hybrid vehicle control apparatus that can suppress an increase in motor load or overuse of battery power caused by extension of EV travel range. A hybrid vehicle control apparatus according to the present invention is provided with an engine start condition control means by which, in a hybrid vehicle (S) having an HEV mode that is selected when a preset engine start condition is satisfied and an EV mode that is selected when a preset engine stop condition is satisfied, an engine start condition is changed from a basic engine start condition to an extended engine start condition for extending the travel range for the EV mode for a predetermined duration of time when, during a travel in the EV mode, an EV travel range extension condition for extending the travel range for the EV mode which is set on the basis of requested torque information (accelerator position: APO) in accordance with a driver request and a vehicle speed (VSP) is satisfied. |
