<p>The present invention relates to processes for the recovery of ethanol from a crude ethanol product obtained from the hydrogenation of a mixed oxygenate stream comprising ethyl acetate and acetaldehyde. The crude ethanol product is separated in at least one distillation column to product ethanol. The mixed oxygenate stream may be obtained from syngas.</p>
