PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle dispersion liquid for display having a white display with a high reflectance and suppressing sedimentation of white particles for display, and an image display device comprising it.SOLUTION: A particle dispersion liquid for display has white particles for display (its white particle group 36) where a white pigment and a resin are contained, the content of the white pigment is 30 mass% or more and 90 mass% or less, the volume average particle diameter is 100 nm or more and 500 nm or less, and the formula (1):400≥6kT/(&pgr;d(&rgr;p-&rgr;s)g)≥30 is satisfied; 2 or more kinds of colored particles for display (its colored particle group 34) except for white moving according to the electric field; and a dispersion medium 50. An image display device comprises it. In the formula (1), k represents a boltzmann's coefficient, T represents the absolute temperature 298(K), d represents a volume average particle diameter of white particles for display, &rgr;p represents the specific gravity of white particles for display, &rgr;s represents the specific gravity of a dispersion medium, and g represents a gravity acceleration. |
