PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and an electronic timepiece that allow a stepping motor to be surely operated even when receiving an external impact.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a scale display part 10 that is provided in a predetermined display area; a pointer 11 that moves above the scale display part 10; a stepping motor 12 that drives the pointer 11; a pair of stopper pins 23 and 24 that are respectively positioned at both end parts of the scale display part 10 and regulate a movement range of the pointer 11; and a rotary coupling plate 25 that movably supports the respective stopper pins 23 and 24. When the pointer 11 is strongly pressed against the stopper pins 23 and 24, the rotary coupling plate 25 is rotated by an impact of the strong pressing to thereby allow for a movement of the stopper pins 23 and 24, and by a reaction of the movement, the rotary coupling plate 25 inversely rotates to thereby allow for a return of the stopper pins 23 and 24 to an original position. Thus, a deviation of a rotary position of the stepping motor 12 can be returned to an original position. |
