The invention relates to a lamp assembly, comprising - at least one elongated lamp tube (10) having light-emitting diodes, e.g., in the dimensions of traditional fluorescent tubes capped at both ends, the lamp tube having a respective end cap (14) at each end, which end caps each have two pins (20, 22) in the form and arrangement of traditional contact pins of fluorescent tubes, the pins of at least one end cap serving as contact pins, and - at least one connection element (30) for retaining and/or electrically contacting the lamp tube in the area of a respective end cap, which connection element has a contact area (36) opposite the end caps, said contact area having sockets (38, 40) complementary to the pins, characterized in that at least one of the end caps has at least one opening (24) for accommodating at least one complementary projection (42), which is formed on the connection element and extends in an axial direction of the lamp tube, which projection has a length that prevents contacting of a lamp tube without a complementary opening. The invention prevents LED light tubes from being connected incorrectly and thus increases the safety of the operation. |
