PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the temperature irregularity of a conveying means in a conveyance direction.SOLUTION: A recording medium conveying mechanism includes: a conveying means 48 that holds a recording medium on an outer peripheral surface thereof and conveys it with rotation; a drying means that heats and dries the recording medium held by the conveying means 48; a cooling means 54 that cools a recording medium conveyance area on the outer peripheral surface of the conveying means 48; a switching means provided on the outer peripheral surface of the conveying means 48; and a cooling control member 82 that cools and stops cooling of the conveying means 48 with the cooling means 54 by coming in and out of contact with the switching means. |
