PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium discharging device that prevents the occurrence of a medium discharge fault such as a recording medium not being stacked on a predetermined stacking position or in a predetermined posture caused by a recording medium being with its tip rounded, thus resulting in a displaced stacking position or an unbalanced stacking posture of the recording medium.SOLUTION: A recording medium discharging device includes: a discharging unit for discharging a recording medium with an image formed thereon from the inside of a device; a tray unit on which the recording medium discharged from the discharging unit is stacked; and an air blower for blowing air to the upper surface of the recording medium discharged from the discharging unit in a direction parallel to a direction in which the recording medium is discharged. Air blowing can reduce the atmospheric pressure of the upper surface of recording medium, thus improving sheet discharge quality.
