The structural element (10) has foam core elements (12a,12a') with cavity structures (14a,14a'). The cavity structure is formed as a rib structure. The cavity structure is formed partially open to the outside. The foam core elements are connected with each other and form a sandwich element with the closed cavity structure. The top layer elements (18a,18a') are arranged at an outer side of the foam core elements. The top layer elements are firmly bonded with the foam core elements. The top layer elements are formed of fiber plastic composite material.
