METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CLOSING A VEHICLE OPENING WITH PINCH-PROTECTION MONITORING

An automotive electronic system monitors the condition of a vehicle sliding roof via which escape may be necessary following a crash in which occupants may be trapped. Following a crash or collision the system releases locking mechanisms that that were activated by the crash to prevent unintended opening of a sliding roof. The locking mechanism is released and part-reversed to facilitate opening the door by the vehicle occupant.
