<p>A height adjustable heel for footwear comprises a plurality of coaxially arranged sections 1, 2, 3, which comprise locking and release means to allow the length of the sections to be increased or decreased to thereby alter the height of the heel. There are preferably three sections arranged telescopically. The locking and release means are preferably engaged / disengaged by twisting the sections, and preferably comprise a short section of cooperating thread. A grip 5, 6, 7 may be provided at the lower end of each section. The lower portion of each heel may be appropriately angled to take account of the change in angle of the sole as the heel is raised / lowered so that the ground contacting portion remains flat on the ground.</p> |
