PURPOSE: A contents playback security system and method and a terminal are provided to support that contents playback is normally performed in connection with authority setting and to support that specific contents which target a terminal supporting a specific data security processing method are normally played in a corresponding terminal only. CONSTITUTION: A terminal provides a message which confirms whether the terminal supports a specific data security processing method or not in a license request process. A contents playback supporting server confirms the specific data security processing method of the terminal through the confirmation of the message which is received from the terminal and determines whether a license which is requested based on the same is issued or not.
