A cylindrical secondary battery is provided to improve the durability of battery by securing mechanical strength of a cap assembly by a stepped part formed on a top cap and to reduce the internal resistance of a battery by preventing the crimping site of the cylindrical battery from getting wider. A cylindrical secondary battery(200) comprises an electrode assembly(110), cylindrical can(120), cap assembly(230) and gasket(240). The cylindrical can accommodates the electrode assembly and is opened with the upper end. The cap assembly is assembled on the top opening of the cylindric can. The gasket insulates a cap assembly from the top opening of the cylindric can. The cap assembly comprises a top cap(231). The top cap comprises a combining device increasing the binding strength of a gasket and cap assembly by fixing the gasket. The combining device comprises a stepped part(231a). |
