PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film having inversely dispersing wavelength dispersion, large Rth per film thickness and when pasted on a panel after processing to a polarizing plate, the display becoming uniform in the plane; and a method for producing the film. SOLUTION: This cellulose acylate film contains cellulose acylate whose total degree of acyl substitution is 2.1-2.8; has a modulus of elasticity in the film traveling direction 16 of 3,200 MPa or larger; has the fluctuation of the modulus of elasticity in the film width direction of 0.5 GPa or less; and satisfies the following expressions (1) to (3). The expression (1): 0≤ΔRe≤15.0 (whereinΔRe is a value (unit: nm) of subtracting the in-plane direction retardation value at 450 nm wavelength from the in-plane retardation value at 630 nm wavelength).
