PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet punching device capable of punching holes with hole positions aligned with respect to sheet side ends without increasing the size of the device, making the device complex or hindering output speed of sheets, and eliminating wasteful power consumption for moving a lateral registration detection unit 301 as much as possible, and to provide and an image forming system with the sheet punching device in the sheet punching device of the image forming system.SOLUTION: As for the first sheet, a sheet end face is detected by moving a lateral registration detection unit 301 in sheet end face direction from a home position irrespective of the size (the width) of the sheet. A sheet displacement of a sheet position is corrected, and punching is performed by a punching unit 302. As for the second and the subsequent sheets, the lateral registration detection unit 301 is moved near the sheet end face with a reference to the sheet end detection position of the first sheet in advance, and the end face is detected at predetermined timing. The lateral displacement of the sheet position is corrected, and punching is performed by the punching unit 302. |
