PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fault detection in an A/D converter which implements fault detection inexpensively and easily by means of general purpose input/output ports.SOLUTION: A CPU 7 reads out from a register 6 a low potential analog signal output from an input/output port 2 as a result of conversion to a digital signal in an A/D converter 5, and if every bit is "0," diagnoses the operation of the A/D converter 5 as normal, and the CPU 7 reads out from the register 6 a high potential analog signal output from the input/output port 2 as a result of conversion to a digital signal in the A/D converter 5, and if every bit is "1," diagnoses the operation of the A/D converter 5 as normal. |
