PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To definitively and stably exert, in an opening direction, a moment for acting on a nozzle vane, increase safety when a variable-nozzle mechanism fails, and improve the control accuracy of a variable-nozzle mechanism in a variable-capacity turbocharger with the variable-nozzle mechanism.SOLUTION: A variable-capacity turbocharger with nozzle vanes 41a positioned at even intervals around the axis of rotation of a turbine wheel 7 so as to encircle the outer-circumferential side of the turbine wheel 7, and a variable-nozzle mechanism configured such that the blade angles of the nozzle vanes 41a are adjustable, the variable-capacity turbocharger being characterized in that the blade cross-section at a right-angle to the nozzle axis 41b of the nozzle vanes 41a has a concavely bending recess 53 formed in one or more sections on a rear-edge 51 side and on a pressure-surface 45 side in relation to the rotation center C, the front-edge 49 side in relation to the rotation center C forms a convex shape, and the surface shape on the pressure-surface 45 side substantially forms an S-shape with the position of the rotation center serving as the boundary thereof. |
