<p>Disclosed are a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) cell reselection method and system. The solution is: when an MBMS service a user equipment (UE) in idle state is interested in receiving is deployed on multiple frequencies, the UE setting, according to an instruction of a network side, one frequency among the frequencies of the MBMS with a highest priority for cell reselection; if a cell reselected for the UE is congested, the UE initiating a radio resource control (RRC) connection request in the local cell, or initiating an RRC connection request in a cell of another frequency, which is reselected for the UE and on which the MBMS service the UE is interested in receiving is located. By means of the present invention, user experience of the UE can be improved, continuity of the MBMS service of the UE in idle state is realized, and network congestion resulting from receiving the MBMS service is avoided.</p> |
