PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light input output device with high long term reliability.SOLUTION: The light input output device 100 includes a housing 130 including an interior space 131 and an optical element 140 arranged in the interior space 131. The housing 130 includes a through opening 160 for exchange of gas in the interior space 131 of the housing 130. The through opening 160 spatially communicates the interior space 131 of the housing 130 and an exterior space 132 of the housing 130. The light input output device 100 also includes an intermediate member 181 and a press-contact member 182 as temporary sealing means for temporarily sealing the through opening 160 and a sealant 183 as a sealing means for completely sealing the through opening. The intermediate member 181 is arranged in the through opening 160 and works to close the through opening 160. The press-contact member has the intermediate member 181 press-contact a wall surface of the through opening 160 and is fixed to the interior of the through opening 160 by frictional force.
